Friendly Synthetic Care Instructions
Maintaining the quality of heat-friendly synthetic styles
involves some additional care maintenance to preserve the integrity
and appearance of the fibers.
Daily Detangling: The Importance of Using Smooth Detangler and a Wide Tooth
Comb
- Detangling
daily is crucial to prevent excessive tangling and matting especially in
the nape area.
- Use
a wide-tooth comb and a Smooth Detangler Spray for the best results.
- Start
from the ends: Work your way up to minimize tension on the fiber.
Skipping these steps can lead to significant tangling and
matting, which can be challenging to manage. This will also negatively impact
the life span of your style.
Pro Tip: Carry a small wide toothed comb in your
purse or keep one handy in your car for quick detangling and touch ups
throughout the day.
Cleansing: Regular maintenance to remove
product buildup and maintain the integrity of the fibers
- Wigs
should be washed under cool clean running water from roots to ends. Do not
soak or submerge in a basin as this may cause tangling.
- Emulsify
a liberal amount of synthetic fiber Shampoo in your hands with some water
and work evenly throughout the hair in a downward motion, keeping the hair
flowing in the same direction. Avoid rigorous rubbing of the fibers which
can lead to tangling of the hairs or damage to the cap. Remember to use
gentle circular motions to cleanse delicate base materials inside.
- Rinse
thoroughly with cool running water until the water runs clear. Gently blot
out excess water with a towel.
- Apply
a Leave in Conditioner spray and comb through with a wide tooth comb.
(Avoid applying conditioner to the roots as this may loosen knots and
cause hair loss)
- Place
on wig stand and air-dry. Let dry before using styling products.
You should wash your wig/topper regularly to remove product buildup and prolong
the life of your style. We recommend every 6-8 wears.
